Forms of Power
Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station

Photographed in May 2026, Forms of Power records Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station in the interval between closure and demolition. The station ceased generating electricity on 30 September 2024, and demolition of its eight cooling towers, built between 1963 and 1967, has been approved.

The black-and-white series moves between close studies of the towers' concrete forms and wider views of the surrounding landscape: cables and pylons, railway and road, footpaths and moorings. Rather than treating the towers as isolated monuments, the photographs place them within a landscape of infrastructure and everyday use.
